Il a re\u00e7u la bourse Lavoisier pour le Pratt Institute \u00e0 New York en 1984 et a \u00e9t\u00e9 laur\u00e9at de la villa Kujoyama \u00e0 Kyoto (Japon) en 1994. <br>Depuis 1978, Miguel Chevalier utilise l\u2019informatique comme moyen d\u2019expression dans le champ des arts plastiques. Il s\u2019est impos\u00e9 internationalement comme l\u2019un des pionniers de l\u2019art virtuel et du num\u00e9rique. Son travail, exp\u00e9rimental et pluridisciplinaire, aborde la question de l\u2019immat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 dans l\u2019art, ainsi que les logiques induites par l\u2019ordinateur, telles que l\u2019hybridation, la g\u00e9n\u00e9rativit\u00e9, l\u2019interactivit\u00e9, la mise en r\u00e9seau. Il d\u00e9veloppe diff\u00e9rentes th\u00e9matiques, telles que la relation entre nature et artifice, l\u2019observation des flux et des r\u00e9seaux qui organisent nos soci\u00e9t\u00e9s contemporaines, l&rsquo;imaginaire de l&rsquo;architecture et des villes virtuelles, la transposition de motifs issus de l&rsquo;art islamique dans le monde num\u00e9rique.<br>Les images qu&rsquo;il nous livre interrogent perp\u00e9tuellement notre relation au monde. Ses \u0153uvres se pr\u00e9sentent le plus souvent sous forme de grandes installations num\u00e9riques projet\u00e9es \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle. Il r\u00e9alise des \u0153uvres in-situ qui revisitent par<br>l&rsquo;art num\u00e9rique, l&rsquo;histoire et l&rsquo;architecture des lieux, en donne une nouvelle lecture.
